89、close， shut一、close动词。
意思是“关上、闭上、关门、关闭、（对外）不开放、结束”。
表示关上、闭上意思时可以和shut换用，但close比较雅致，在叙述性文字中用得较多，也可以用于引申意义。
常用于道路封闭、机场关闭；closed可用于名词前作定语，但shut不能；可用于正式英语中，表示会议或谈话结束。
当然close还可以作名词、形容词和副词。
作形容词前面已经解说，作名词和副词这里不赘述。
例如：She closed her eyes. 她把眼睛闭上。
Close the door. 把门关上。
The road is closed because of the snow. 这条路因雪而封闭。
A girl stood by a closed window. 一个女孩站在关闭的窗户旁。
At eleven the meeting closed. 会议在十一点结束。
二、shut 动词。
意思是“关上、闭上、合上”。
常可以和close换用，但shut在口语中用的比较多，关时有力并暗含关闭时发出较大声音之意。
Shut the door. 关门。
Shut the gate so that the dog won't get out.关上大门，这样狗就出去不了。
It is too late to shut the stable-door when the steed is stolen. 马被盗时再关马棚门太晚了。
